Mertert - Wasserbillig

Located at the confluence of the Sûre and the Moselle, Mertert and Wasserbillig have a rich historical past, but are resolutely turned towards the future. The major river port of Mertert and excellent roads and railway connections open Mertert and Wasserbillig to the world.

Friends of ancient history will discover interesting remains of the Gallo-Roman period. The Baroque church of Wasserbillig is known both for its lovely carillon altar which comes from the monastery of Bernkastel.

Those who love river fishing or a bit more active sports like swimming, water skiing or tennis, will find all they need in Mertert and Wasserbillig, while a large variety of trails attracts hikers and walkers.

The didactic forest trail “Pierre Moes” is especially appreciated by those who are interested in the local fauna and flora.
