Pictures lanes and shady squares, well-kept houses and famous gourmet restaurants charm the visitors of Ehnen, Wormeldange, Ahn and Machtum. Trails through the vineyards lead to spectacular viewpoints over the Moselle valley.
As one of the most important wine producing centres of the Grand-Duchy, Wormeldange is famous for its Riesling, celebrated on the third week-end in September at the “Riesling Open”.
Ehnen is renowned for its unique circular church and its Wine Museum. In a beautiful 18thcentury home, it exhibits tools and objects informing about the work in the vineyards and the making of wine.
From the “Koeppchen” in Wormeldange, the capital of St. Donatus watches over the region, while the “Caves Coopératives” welcome you for a glass of Poll Fabaire, the famous sparkling wine.
Ahn is famous for the wild orchids that adorn the region in spring time.
Machtum, nestled against a winding river, has been a source of inspiration for many painters.
